Do I need my own account, and what does it do for me?

Yes — as an artist you get your own account and public profile on tattoo.shop. Your paid account organizes and categorizes your artwork and publishes it to the web in a way that makes it searchable, so clients can discover your work and request to book with you. tattoo.shop will also feature a search portal where your work will be searchable based on categories, names and other information you provide for each piece of work. Any piece of information you can provide about your art work will be organized so your art can be discovered both in our portal and on the web (and AI).

I already have an Instagram account I publish regularly to. What do I do with that?
  • Keep it, and keep using it
  • Link to it from your profile page so it gets more attention
  • Take your favorite art work and publish it, with all descriptive categories and details, to your profile so it can be found and seen outside of Instagram
Is my profile tied to the studio I work at?

Your artist profile is linked to the studio you work at, which connects your work to their location and booking. It's not permanent, though — if you move, you can unlink from your current shop and re-link to a new one. Your profile and portfolio come with you.

What happens to my portfolio if I change studios?

Your artwork and profile are yours. When you unlink from one studio and link to another, your gallery moves with you — there's nothing to rebuild.

How do clients find my work?
  • Your existing social media accounts
  • search engine queries
  • Image search queries from our portal

Our links guarantee that they find you first, and find a way to book an appointment with you.

Can clients book directly with me?

Clients can book with you through two different ways:

  • Directly through your profile]
  • Through the shop profile you are linked to

Also, if someone finds your image on the web or in our portal and clicks on it, it should take them to your gallery and, as a result, to your profile. All linked artwork links to you.

How do deposits and payments work for me as the artist?

This depends on where you are and what you're doing.

  • If you are an independent artist and you handle your own payments, sign up for an Independent Artist account and set up your own merchant account.
  • If the studio manages bookings and appointments, link your profile to their studio and our platform will handle the rest of the details.
