For the tattoo.shop platform, the shop/artist manages their appointment book. Here are the steps:
Yes. Go into your profile and post pictures of the existing artwork you have (note: use the Instagram rule on what you're putting in there - no nudity). Your profile will remain private until you book an appointment or initiate a chat with an artist/shop where you wish to share your profile details. Your profile will remain private to the outside world, and only exposed to those you share it with, up to the end of your appointment.
Many studios require a deposit to hold your appointment time. It protects the artist against last-minute cancellations and is typically applied toward the cost of your tattoo. Each studio sets its own deposit and cancellation policy, which you'll see when you book.
Before your session you'll complete a short health-history and consent form. It helps your artist tattoo you safely and is a standard part of getting tattooed. You can fill it out from your phone before you arrive or on a kiosk at the studio.
Yes — most studios verify a photo ID at check-in to confirm your identity and age before your session begins. As part of the intake process, we offer the option of collecting this information to help expedite your appointment. You can choose to refuse, if you like - this information is kept with your profile but in a private storage account that only the platform has access to externally. The owner/artist will be able to see it as part of the intake, and for as long as their record keeping applies. If you choose to refuse to store this digitally, no problem, we will let the shop know that you choose to have them physically record, verify, or otherwise validate it as needed according to whatever local laws require.
You can manage your appointment from your account. Keep in mind each studio's cancellation and deposit policy, which is shown when you book — canceling late may forfeit your deposit.
Yes. Payments are processed through CardPointe, a PCI-compliant payment platform, and your card details are stored securely in the studio's merchant account — not on the studio's own devices.
After your session, your studio can send you aftercare instructions and a link to share a healed photo of your tattoo. Following aftercare guidance helps your tattoo, piercing or other work heal well.
