For Owners For Artists For Clients
How much does tattoo.shop cost?

One flat rate of $30/month — or $300/year for each studio, with unlimited artists. There are no per-artist fees and no setup fees. You can start building your presence for free; a CardPointe merchant account is what unlocks taking deposits and payments online.

How do I manage artists for my shop?

Artists are encouraged (but not required) to build their own artist profile that they can 'link' to your shop (subject to your approval). This is a standalone page that features their description, their work, but all shop info points to your location. Because it's theirs, they get two options - a 'free' version which puts their name (and yours) into the public web with minimal images, and a paid account gives them unlimited images. All images for artist profile (and yours) will be requested to fill out categories, descriptions, and other details in order to make them more searchable on the web as well as in our own portal so customers can find what they're looking for and book appointments faster.

Do I need special hardware or a POS terminal?

No hardware is required to get started. When you're ready to take card-present payments, we support any terminal or reader purchased through your CardPointe merchant account — connect it to your internet and we detect it automatically. You can also take payments online through the booking flow without any hardware at all.

Can I require a deposit before booking?

Yes. You can require a deposit on any service, set your own cancellation and no-show policy, and keep a card on file for repeat clients. When a client pays a deposit online, a secure card profile is created in your merchant account so returning clients can rebook quickly. Deposits and cancellation fees help protect your artists' time against no-shows.

How does the medical intake and consent form work?

Each client completes a health-history and consent form before their appointment, and can do it from their phone ahead of time or on a kiosk when they arrive. Completed forms are stored with the appointment so your artist has the client's history and signed consent on file — no paper waivers to chase down or store.

Keep in mind, this is an optional service and you can customize it according to your own legal requirements. If you need something as a part of this process that you don't readily see available, contact us through the support tab and let us know what you need - we'll get it out to you as quickly as we can.

Can I verify a client's ID before check-in?

Yes. tattoo.shop supports an optional photo-ID collection as part of check-in, so your artist can confirm a client's identity and age before the session starts. The verification is recorded against the appointment for your records. Note that this is something we cannot enforce against the customer - out of respect for privacy, we give them a 'choose to refuse' option, so you may have to physically validate it upon the time of appointment. We

How does aftercare work on the platform?

After a session you can send the client their aftercare instructions and a link to submit a healed-photo, which becomes part of their history with your studio. This keeps your clients cared for after they leave the chair and gives you a record of healed work.

Can I manage multiple artists and locations?

Yes. Your subscription covers unlimited artists, and each artist gets their own public profile linked to your studio that they manage and pay for. If you run more than one location, you can manage them all from the same console and web presence. Costs are the same

How do clients find my studio and artists?

We publish your studio and each artist's profile to the web, optimized for search engines, so clients can find you and book directly. Artists get a public portfolio, and clients can browse work by style and distance before reaching out.

What are the payment processing fees?

Card processing is handled through your CardPointe merchant account. In states that allow it, the processing fee is passed to the customer as a surcharge, which keeps your own cost down. The full fee schedule is in your CardPointe merchant agreement.

What happens to my data, and how is it backed up?

We handle all data management and backups for you — there's nothing you need to do. Your studio and appointment data is managed in the console; merchant and payout details live in your CardPointe portal.

Is there a contract or long-term commitment?

No long-term contract. It's month-to-month (or annual if you prefer the discount), and you can manage your subscription from your account settings.
